Germanfest
Friday was just a bit warmer. I uncovered most of our plants because they had not seen the sun for three days. Evelyn to exercise and I to the recycle station and the hardware store to cash in my $5 coupon. I used it to buy bolts and nuts to attach the planks to our back step. I found out by accident that tomorrow’s fun golf day has been cancelled. I knew it would be but really feel neglected in not being called. We had lunch (mine was sausage and boudin then took our blood test results to Dr. McDougal on the way to the hospital. We both took our required chest X-rays at the hospital. Volunteers are required to have them but we should because of my family history of TB. We came home early again because we had to get ready to go to the Germanfest. The dinner was bratwurst, Sauer Kraut, hot German potato salad and German chocolate cake served at 5. Afterward was a dance by Lyle Beaver. We sat with our friends from Winnipeg, Heinz and Alice Bauknecht. Do they sound German? We stayed until 9 and then came home even though it lasted until 10. I had work to do on the sermon and will have little time tomorrow. Oh, yes. The rye bread we made last night was very good but had stuck to the handle and made an unattractive loaf.
