working around the house
Monday is park meeting day, and Barbara Fairchild and her husband talked. They are staying here and will give a concert Friday night. We bought tickets for that performance and for the Mardi Gras on February 20. We had parked our car near the hall last night so we drove home. Unfortunately, Enrique did not come today. We just pray that he returns tomorrow. I asked Tom to come to help me recover the back step. He used a ratchet strap to pull the frame together so we could get the bolts through the frame. It worked just fine. We then went to the hardware store to get some supplies, especially a doorknob since I had to tear one apart the other night. I also bought some weather stripping and some water seal for the back step. We had lunch and then Evelyn cleaned the kitchen and went for a nap. She had just gone to sleep when the man came to collect for the flooring. He was well pleased. I paid him the remaining $1482, and he left. After my portion of the nap, we went outside and swept sand into the cracks in the pavers and reassembled the archway Evelyn had painted. We had the last of the potato soup she made last week and then went for a walk. We stopped in to talk with Tom and Diesta Crouch. We learned that they are taking a cruise through Alaska in August. We think that it will be cold when they are on the ship. We enjoyed the visit and came home to watch TV.
