Taking over the back yard work
I got up and worked on skimming some of the back yard and threw the dirt over the fence. I am really disappointed in Enrique. I really thought he was responsible and would return to finish his promise. I guess, as Christians, we should expect people to disappoint us, especially since we have disappointed many others in the past not to mention how deeply we have all disappointed our God and Savior. I didn’t work too long because it gets hot quickly here. I also went around spraying the weeks with 2-4-D and then cut the grass on our side of the lot. Evelyn returned from exercise and got ready for Bible study. I made some changes to the sermon and made some phone calls: LuAnn, our former neighbor, Stacy and Barry Conover, our lay minister friend in Franklin, NC. I left LuAnn a message, talked with Jackie Conover, and talked with Tom, Stacy’s husband. The kids have had strep infection but are recovering. We had a south beach pizza for lunch. We might go on that diet if we can find a copy of the book. Evelyn began cutting out the material for Elizabeth’s dress. She got it all cut out and we napped for a while. Afterward we rode our bikes about a mile to a rehab center to take a sermon to our Friend Janet. We also stopped to see Lionell at another facility on our way back. We had supper of salad and chili soup. We are trying to find another couple to go with us to the banquet tomorrow evening. We hope we get a return call.
