mortal tragedy

Sunday we became associate members of Our Savior Lutheran Church. The church had a small reception for us and two other couples after worship. Our choir sang a song that I think is ugly. I am glad we finished it. We came home and had lunch. I am trying to avoid too many carbohydrates because I need to lose weight. I pray for strength. After lunch we cut our large piece of beef in two and prepared the marinade that will make sauerbraten for the German dinner Sunday. We watched the Cubs move to a 3 ½ game lead with a victory. Then I read my e-mail and learned that I had lost 4 friends. It was a sad remainder of the day. We went for a walk in the evening, and I made plans to play golf tomorrow afternoon. I sure won’t be my happy self. I had made the plan in the morning or I would have not done it.
