Two surprises

Monday was a slow day at work. Two of my harder jobs, cleaning the deep fryer and degreasing the drive through, have been removed from my schedule, I guess. Evelyn worked on the girl’s nightgowns in the morning and got me at noon. We came home for lunch and then took a long nap. This working wears me out. I think we must have slept 1 ½ hours. We got up and putzed around until supper. We just made popcorn since we hadn’t had any for two weeks. Afterward Jim and Kathy came with a gift for Evelyn: a picture of us boarding the river cruise in Savannah. I had merely stopped to mollify the photographer, never thinking we would have the picture, so I was not smiling although I was happy. We walked around the loop twice with them. Jim needs to walk but his knees hurt him. I don’t know how he did so much walking on the trip. I think he is paying for it now. We watched some TV and Cubs debacle before going to bed. I hope I will be rested enough to play golf tomorrow. The exciting news of the day is that my brother is retiring at the end of the month. I am glad because he is too old to be working hard at the computer each day. J
