dancing and more dancing
Tuesday we arose, packed and ate breakfast. I have to pour water out of the coolers and replace the ice each morning. It has been working well because there is always ice left in the coolers and the sodas are always cold. We left for Lafayette which was only about 150 miles away. We arrived without incident around 2 and went directly to Dwyer’s Cafeteria for lunch of great catfish. We then found a motel. We carried what we needed into the room and left for Scott where Early’s market is located. We bought two pounds of crawfish tales and some Cajun seasoning. We returned to the motel, changed clothes and left for Randol’s for dinner and dancing. We shared a half etouffee/half fried crawfish dinner. We danced while waiting for dinner. We learned that they didn’t have hush puppies again. This happened to us last year too. We may not go back there for dinner again. We enjoyed dancing but were terribly outclassed. This should be no surprise since they were mostly Cajuns. We did meet a couple from California that used to be the city manager of Palmdale where Pieder works. He and Emily live in the neighboring town of Lancaster. We returned to the motel and decided to drive to New Braunfels tomorrow instead of staying in Lafayette another day. There is a great Wurstfest festival going on there and we will dance polkas and waltzes.
