guests for lunch

If you look closely, you will see Evelyn relaxing on the couch watching football.

Saturday was windy in the morning but better in the afternoon. The temperature was in the high 60s but will get much cooler on New Year’s Eve and several days thereafter. I went to the hall where the pancake breakfast was being served so I could invite two couples for lunch. They accepted and I came home to help prepare. I also went to Wal-Mart to take advantage of the special on Busch beer. I was running out. I returned and worked more on the service for tomorrow and then helped set up for lunch. The couples are from MN and Evelyn had made a new recipe of Mexican food we wanted to try. There was a great volume hence the two couples at once. They stayed until about two after which we cleaned up the mess and took naps. We got up and I worked more while Evelyn went to walk on the treadmill. She returned and just snacked for our evening meal. We spent the evening watching two football games. I also called our friends from IN and learned that there were more than 5,000 from Purdue at the Motor City Bowl. One of the Purdue alumni here in the park had told me there were no more than 1,000. We will have company for dinner tomorrow after church. I am ready as I can be for tomorrow’s service.
