a new restaurant
Thursday finished my AARP class. The “driving instructor” returned again and must have declared his credentials of having taught in high school and college 3 time. He also broke into his experiences of driving in Australia and New Zealand ad nauseam. I finally had to tell him few of us would ever drive in those areas, so he should move on. We did still finish ahead of time and I came home to mount our bicycles to ride to the hospital. We still had a volunteer lunch coupon, so we ate lunch on the hospital. It was large enough to share. I had a good time razzing my Paul and Lionell about not coming to view the Super Bowl with us. They are the very best friends I have ever had at the hospital. After our shift we rode home, Evelyn talked with our neighbor a bit, and then we went to a small dump of a restaurant to have a “big ass taco” that had been recommended by the young security guard at the hospital. We thought the restaurant was questionable in size and cleanliness and the food was OK. We returned to the park, and I borrowed some golf clubs for our visitor, Phil, to use when we play Tuesday after next. We came home and I finished work on the order of service for February 24. I also made plans to help a friend get to McAllen to see a doctor for tests next Tuesday. We will sleep in tomorrow if we can.
