planting a church

I was up and ready for Barry to arrive. He was on time and off we went to Asheville. We were going to a workshop on church planting. We arrived at the same time as pastor Crume and Gene Folkers. I had not called him because I thought he had more riding with him and Barry had to leave at 3 but the workshop was over at 5. We were served a lunch of cold meat and I ate with a young girl from our church. She had recently joined and we had just been back for one Sunday. Barry and I left at 3 and on the way home he made clear that he would be unable to use me to fill his pulpit this summer. I understand because I have been released by the LCMS and he might be reprimanded if he used me. He brought me home and we parted planning to meet for lunch sometime in the future. Evelyn and I jumped into the car and went to Staples to buy a new GPS system. I bought one and she bought a CD rack for the kitchen. We went downtown to deliver an onion to Laurie and inquire about our payment for a comforter we had left with a consignment shop for sale. We then went to walk the lake and came home for supper of the remaining venison burgers. I also went to Jim’s to pay our association dues for the rest of the year. We then came home and watched John Wayne’s final film, “The Shootist”.
