cabbage and pork chops
We were off to the lake by 8:30 and home by 9:30. I watered some of the plants but not all. It had gently rained slightly last night. Evelyn went to work on cooking the cabbage Bollingers gave us. I had cut it in half and then in wedges. We put one half into a bag to give to Rogers. I also cut some carrots and sliced zucchini. She added two large pork chops and cooked the mixture for an hour. She also had a plan for my hair. She wanted me to color my hair, so I had bought some “Touch of Grey” last week. She helped me apply the solution (she has done it for years to herself) and seemed pleased with the results. We ate lunch and Evelyn had another sore stomach so she went to bed. I watched the Cubs beat the Astros. Man, they are hot. I pray they can keep up the offense. We then watched some of the sports shows, and I finished off the chicken salad we had made last week before going to choir. Evelyn had also made a rhubarb coconut cake that she wanted to take to share with the choir. We put on our robes for a picture for the new directory, rehearsed, and then went to the basement to enjoy the cake. We came straight home and she worked on the Bible study for a while before we watched another movie from the library. It was a British saga called “All Passion Spent”. Like many British films, it was slow moving and difficult for me to understand since they have thick accents and speak rapidly. Evelyn had not eaten anything since noon and had no more stomach problems before bedtime.
