more medicine
We both slept through the night with the exception of the required trips to the bathroom. We had a light breakfast and then went off to Waynesville. I still had a check our friends had written to us for the play tickets and wanted to cash it. I always hated having checks outstanding longer than they had to be. We also went to the grocery to get some final fixings for our chicken salad. We want to use the chicken from yesterday before we go away for the weekend. Ingalls had some specials we wanted. We returned home and Evelyn lay down to rest. I called Karen, asking he to allow us to bring the meal for our picnic before dance class. She agreed and told of long lines of people waiting for gasoline in the Asheville area. We had not seen that here but after lunch we went to the doctor’s office and passed a filling station with long lines. The doctor listened to Evelyn’s symptoms and will try to schedule a nuclear injection of some kind to examine whether she has nodules on her thyroid or has an infection or what. He scheduled appointments for us on October 16 but will try to get the nuclear test this week or early next. He also prescribed something to bind off the bile to help her stomach problem. We came home and I finished making the salad. I have the job of chopping the vegetables and fruits. I added celery hearts, onion, grapes and crushed peanuts. It was very good. We joined our friends at the lake for dinner. They brought beer, wine and the dessert. On our way to dance lessons we got the prescription. For some reason Wal-Mart doesn’t have some of our prescriptions. They gave us what they had. We learned a couple of new tango steps tonight and did fairly well. Evelyn seemed to have more energy for some reason. We came home and she began her new medicine and watched some of “Dancing with the Stars” before going to bed. I am supposed to play golf tomorrow and then we will finish packing.
