Thank God for the rain

We slept a bit late but wakened to a welcome rain. It was hard and the type of roof we have in the Texas room makes a terrible racket. In the evening I can hardly hear the television even at full blast. After the rain I went to the hall to make some calls, especially to order an AARP driver’s training kit. We decided when to have that class and our Bible study. I returned home and we worked on straightening the shed a bit. After lunch, it rained more. After it stopped, I took a steel hook to Tom to be ground smaller so I could get the chain link through it. I also rode to the doctor’s office on my bike to get the prescription they were supposed to call in to the pharmacy. I got it and took it to the pharmacy myself. I returned home and we worked on trimming some of our rangy Sega palms, bougainvillea, and poinsettias. It got hot after the rain so we didn’t do as much as we could have. We came in and relaxed until supper. We decided to put some of our storage items into our trailer since we won’t need them until spring. We will put some clothing in there too because we have friends coming to stay with us for a few days and will need the closet space. We took a walk around the park as we did last night. Evelyn went to the kitchen to work while I remembered and edited Andrew’s paper on John Brown. He wanted it before Wednesday so I hope he can get some benefit from it. He suggested that I copy it into an e-mail message to him. We had tried other things that hadn’t worked. This may be the answer we have been looking for.
