January 30 in Buenos Aires
We slept until 9 and had the breakfast fuffet. We were on our own until tonight’s show. Luann’s brother Bob flew in and went on a tour of the city via bus. We prayed and searched our luggage for Evelyn’s medicine. The Lord allowed us to find it. Thanks be to Him. As I showered, I “stomped” our white laundry instead of seraching for a lavender. They aren[t clean but have been washed. Our travel partners were touring the city with Bob and I went to a local foto store and bought a blank disc so Tom can put our pictures on it from his computer. He has them there so I can clean my memory stick. He will make the CD when we are in the ship. We put on our train slickers and walked through the off and on rainto a restaurant Evelyn had spotted for an Italian lunch. We then tried to walk to where she could get a tango dress, but the rain was too hard. Instead we rented an hour of computer time for 3 pecdos and read/dumped e-mail. I learned that my friend Sam had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Another friend, Larry Yazel, had suffered a stroke. We came back and took a short nap until time to dress for the tango show at La Piazolla. The theater was inside one of the elegant buildings now serving as a mall we had already visited. We had a table at the edge of stage left. Marvelous seats. An appetizer, entree, and dessert were included as was wine. We both had NY steak cooked much more to our liking than any before. It was garnished with an eggplant, onion, pimento vegetable and a potato stuffed with chimichuri sauce. Dessert was a brownie or tiramisu. The show featured much dancing, orchestra, male and female soloists and instrumentals by the orchestra. I only saw 3 dances that I thought were tangos, but everyone else thought they all were. I think the best tango dancers we saw were at the small one we saw in the first night we were in Bueno Aires. We had also seen a couple at Dorrego Plaza yesterday evening that was good. We were home around midnight after waiting 20 minutes for our ride to return us to our hotel.
