Concert # 1 of 6

We slept a bit late and were just on time for the park meeting at 9. Rain had been predicted as a cold front came through, so I took an umbrella but there was no rain. We decided to take the ride around South Padre Island with the bike club on Thursday and signed up. Evelyn found a woman who said she would cook the turkey in case Don and Janice want us to come to their house for Thanksgiving dinner. We came home and I continued working on destruction of the cactus in back. I used my old back saw as before and removed all the paddles. When I got to the very thick trunk, the Lord sent the neighbor over with his small but very effective chain saw. He made relatively short work of what would have taken me all day if I would have ever finished. We worked until about noon when I went in for lunch. I then showered and dressed for the evening. I worked a bit on the computer after drying the dishes Evelyn had washed. I got sleepy and took a nap until it was time to get Joe and Bonny. We drove to McAllen and went to Mimi’s for dinner. We had BOGO coupons and enjoyed the chicken dishes we had. We went to the concert by Buffalo Rome (sic), a group of 3 that sang songs from the 70s and 80s. They were pretty good. We came home and I cut the 4 muffins the restaurant had given us as first timers with the Winstons. We will enjoy them for breakfasts. Evelyn agreed to lead the Mary-Martha Bible study Thursday night and will have to begin working on it before Thursday.
