Feast of Sharing

Saturday is sleep in day. We got up at 9:30, deciding not to have breakfast because we planned an early dinner. Lloyd and I tried to fix the motor on the fibre optic tree but found the transformer is not working and can’t be fixed. I just reassembled the base and used the tree with just the lights that came on the tree. Evelyn heated many of the items from Thursday and we ate lunch early. We then went to the flea market. We were looking for a cream pitcher and an ice cream scoop. We found both items and went to the location of the Feast of Sharing. The HEB Texas grocery chain gives a free meal to several locations in the Valley and even in Mexico. Everyone in the area is invited to the ham dinner. We have served with almost a hundred others for 3 previous years. Our shift was from 2-4 but few people came after 3 so we left after cleaning up most of the large hall. We had planned to eat there but it was still too soon after lunch even though we had eaten early so we could. We came home and I watched some of the Purdue basketball game. During the half I buffed some of our scratches from our Saturn. I got the mail and began on final preparations for tomorrow. In the evening we ate the leftover sandwich from Schlotsky’s before watching the Saints/Cowboys football game. I also addressed some Christmas cards to people in our park. I have been working on distributing more money to various Christian charities. We still have around $1500 to give away. I have $300 remaining.
