Friends visit
Again we were blessed with 57 in worship with us at our Holy Communion service. Tom and LuAnne came as did our friends the Reddels. We left for home and the Jones left for their trailer to "reset the dog's clock", enabling us to go to the Remington Steak House for the Sunday brunch. Tom insisted on buying ours. They had parked their truck in our driveway. Last year it had been towed away since it was in a neighbor's carport. We put a "hands off" sign on the truck to prevent a recurrence. We enjoyed the brunch but had to hurry back to attend John Hamel's 75th birthday party. Sue had asked me to give the invocation for the party held in the rec hall at their park. There was a surprise in that his other brothers and sister had come from a distance. We didn't stay too long and returned home to rest and watch the gold medal hockey game. I also toggled between that and the Purdue/Michigan State basketball game. The Canadians and Michigan State won. Purdue lost because one of their real stars got hurt last Wednesday and will be out for the rest of the season. This is really sad because Purdue is no longer a real threat to go to the final 4 in the NCAA tournament. This may be the last chance for Purdue since one of the other players my be drafted in the NBA. We had both napped during the afternoon and took a walk around the park around at 5:30. We returned home and popped corn for supper. We also called Rosalie because it is her birthday. She is now 12. They are in their permanent house and are trying to paint, remodel, etc. I began to work on some of next week's service in the evening.
