Helping friends

We were up and at Jo’s by 8:30. We were earlier than anyone had expected but were happy because it was getting very hot when we finished. Jo is a friend from church that is recovering from a broken foot and can’t pull weeds from her flower beds, so we volunteered to help her. The girls worked very hard and entertained us through their songs. Jo served us lemonade and offered to serve us lunch, but we had other things we wanted to do. We stopped at Food Lion for some supplies, and I went to the pharmacy to have a prescription refilled. We were home by noon, and the girls grabbed their swim suits and left for the rec center. I stayed home and read some of the “tome” and heated the ground beef and added the taco seasoning for our lunch. The girls were home by 2, and ate lunch. We then took a nap while the girls watched “Flubber” and did some crocheting while sitting on the porch swing. The neighbor whose house we will be using next weekend came over and talked about what we should do. She stayed for more than half an hour, making it impossible for us to go anywhere. We had many leftovers for supper, and then Evelyn read more from the Applewhites book to the girls. When they finished, we played one phase of Phase 10. The girls were getting goofy, telling us they were quite tired, so we stopped at the first phase. Tomorrow we get to worship with them.
