Family arrives

Since we had done much cleaning yesterday, we loafed a little after breakfast. The girls had slept until almost 9, giving me a chance to catch up on my Bible reading. When the girls wakened and ate, Evelyn helped Rosalie make the Reese’s peanut butter cheesecake for tonight’s dessert and a flag cake for the Independence Day dessert. I watered the plants and helped Elizabeth decorate our deck and porch. We then went to town to meet Jo for lunch at the New China Garden. She invited us there to buy us lunch, but I beat her to the bill. She was trying to repay us for pulling all her weeds last Saturday, but we didn’t want her to do that. She is a friend and needed help. We left there and made our customary trip to the GO Grocery for more supplies for the weekend. We also had to go to Ingalls for more. I had to go to the bank to get 13 envelopes containing $8 each to buy the barbecue lunch after the parade tomorrow. We came home and waited for the company. Stacy had called and said Olivia would not be with them until tomorrow because she wasn’t finished with her church camp. We also knew that the Beelis would not be arriving until 6. This gave us time to watch some of our old movies of the girls when they were young. Everyone arrived about the same time, and we began baking the 6 medium pizzas we had bought. Evelyn had also made broccoli salad and fresh fruit salad followed by the Reese’s cake. The kids had a good time together as did the adults. We even all sat around and watched more of the home movies. We went to bed around 10:30 and set the alarm for 6:15. The bad news of the day was that I had dropped the computer and broke my ATT air card. I will have to go to Asheville to get it exchanged. If they want to charge me, I will switch to Verizon.
