Fun Depot
This was another beautiful day. It began with worship in which we were reminded that Christ has earned forgiveness for our sin. We sometimes forget that and need to be reminded frequently. We left there intending to go out for lunch, but, since we wanted to change into casual clothes, we just at ham sandwiches at home. Then it was off to the Fun Depot in Asheville. We bought the girls $24 worth of game money. They had a good time playing laser tag, climbing the wall, and drove some simulated race cars. The prices were so low that we finally had to leave to make it to some stores before they closed. We plan to return to Asheville Wednesday so we can spend the money left on the playcard. We went to A.C. Moore and bought some jewelry boxes for the girls to decorate and some Independence Day decorations for the parade Saturday. We passed the by the farmer’s market, so we stopped and were surprised that there were peaches ready. Evelyn bought some and some blackberries. We then drove home and stopped at the Dairy Queen in Canton for a treat. Then we came home. Evelyn planted the basil and chocolate mint we had been given while I returned the screws to Gene Ford. He had given them to us for the construction of the new Purdue wishing well. I took him a beer and visited for a while before making popcorn for our supper. The girls walked partway up the mountain and then returned to eat popcorn and play cards. They then watched “National Velvet”, a movie from the 50s.
