The longest drive.
We were wakened at 6, showered and ate breakfast. We went to the Best Stop for Boudin and turkey tasso. We then went to Early’s market for some crawfish tails. Then we were on our way by around 8. We had been anticipating our lunch at Al T’s and arrived at 11:30. We had a huge Cajun lunch as we always do when there. We had enough left over to take it to the motel for our supper. We drove to the Texas welcome center and saw a resident alligator in the swamp. The rest of the trip was uneventful until we got to Seguin. Evelyn wanted to get some pecans but couldn’t remember where the place was. We came on to the motel instead. We got a room and changed to another because of the design. We wanted a king bed. We ate and then went to the Wurstfest to meet Bob and Theresa Schwinghammer. We danced a few polkas and then went to listen to Alex Meixster play the polkas on his accordion. It was a very warm evening, and we were tired. We left shortly after 9 and called Tom and Luann to arrange to meet them tomorrow for lunch and the day.
