Christmas concert
We had Bible study again featuring the acting out of the book or Acts. One of the women called us with a serious cold, so there were only 4 of us. We had a good class anyway. We came home and had lunch. We could have ridden to Keno’s restaurant for lunch with the bike club but didn’t. We rested and then went to Harlingen to shop for some things at Kohl’s. We bought a necklace and a board game for the kids we had volunteered to give a gift. Their father is in prison and Prison Fellowship, a Christian group that ministers to prisoners, has an Angel Tree program to give the gifts as if they were from their dad. We found some things for Evelyn too. After a sandwich, we went to the auditorium to hear the Vance Greek Christmas program. The first half was not very good and was the same one we saw 3 years ago. The second half was composed of the Rio Hondo Baptist choir. Janice Waters, our friend, was in it. We sat with her husband, Don and were blessed by the music. It was very cold in the auditorium, and I wore Janice’s sweater backward like one of the snuggies being advertised on TV. We went with them to the IHOP restaurant because they have had nothing to eat for supper. We weren’t very hungry so we shared an order of banana bread French toast. It was delicious. We had a great visit with them and exchanged gifts or cookies.
