Sunday
We went to Bible class and met Paul and Shirley for worship. We then returned home for our roast beef dinner. We had not looked at the church calendar and missed the fellowship dinner after the service. This is bad because we need to get to know more people and that is a way to do it. We had a good time anyway. After lunch we went with them to Asheville. Their cabin had been robbed while they were in Indiana, so they will have to shop for replacement items. This time they were looking for rugs. We were then off to Paul's favorite place--the Farmer's Market. We bought white peaches, tomatoes, and squash to share. I also bought some boiled peanuts, my first since our return to NC. They were jumbos and enjoyable for dinner. Even though it was still early and we had eaten late, Paul took us to the J&S cafeteria, his second favorite place. They ate something, and I smuggled my peanuts in and finished them. We went home and we watched some old western movies on DVDs I had bought a year ago. Those movies that we liked so much as children are really bad in today's terms. I got Steve to come over and help me move the bookcase. He is a wonderfully nice young man. E. and I carried the books Olivia and I had removed and loaded them back in. We are keeping watch on the progress of hurricane Dennis. We continue to be blessed in that it doesn't come this way. We pray for those in both direct and indirect hits.
