cold and rainy

Saturday was a slow day indoors. We got up and went to the grocery to find wine to use for Holy Communion tomorrow. While at the grocery, I met a man going to Tampico on a mission trip. I was wearing my “The Lord is my Shepherd” T-shirt and he wanted to talk with me. It is always a thrill to talk with other Christians, especially ones who are excited about serving. We were also blessed in that we had been awaiting a sale on Pepsi products and we found it today. Buy 4 12 packs at $2.50 and get one free. We brought home 10. We had run out last night. We went to Trail’s End and filled the cups for Communion. It did not take long and we went on to our friend who owns an electronic repair shop. He was not there so I left a note for him to call me. He didn’t. We arrived home in the rain and it rained much of the day. We need rain so it was welcome. The temperature also dropped so it was cozy in the house. One of the painters was also a landscaper who said he would fix our backyard but of course he didn’t come in the rain. We mostly laid around, I half heartedly working on the service and Evelyn baking a bit and reading. We had some stuffed sole that we got with our order of Omaha steaks shipment. We ate them with a spinach salad and baked potato. We had only popcorn for dinner and watched The March of the Penguins I had recorded earlier. What a tremendous struggle!
