Seeing a legend

Thursday Evelyn and Janet went to church to lead the women’s Bible study. Tom and I just knocked around Waynesville doing errands. We went to Christopher’s to look at peaches. They were $28 for half a bushel. At Barber’s they were only $20. This was still higher than we paid in July. We met the ladies downtown after lunch. Evelyn had ordered a Purdue pin for Janet and surprised her with it. We learned that the Lord had blessed the Bible study again. He does a great job through Evelyn. We all came home and napped while watching the Cubs win for a change. We had cabbage rolls for dinner and then went to Maggie Valley to hear Raymond Fairchild, a great banjo player, at his Opry House. He has performed all over the world including “Hee Haw” and the “Grand Old Opry”. He has played with many other famous bluegrass artists. Ironically, I have thought we had better go to see him while he is still alive because he is getting old. The irony is that he is one year younger than I. I thought he was older than he is. We came home late and went to bed so they could get on the road home before 9 in the morning. We received a call from Ribbes inviting us to dinner Monday evening.
