Mail and Mayhem

Saturday we began working again. I went to the hall to get our accumulated mail to look over during the football game. Evelyn worked more on getting the kitchen cleaned, and I continued unloading the car and emptying some of the plastic tubs we had brought. We had some spaghetti for lunch. We had pasta that was at least 3 years old and some really good Classic Italian sausage sauce. Then the day fell apart. As I sorted a large tub of mail, the Boilermakers were beaten around by Michigan State. I don’t know who would invite them to a bowl game. I begin to wonder if we would go to the Alamo Bowl if they are invited. I wonder if they can even beat Indiana next week. What a collapse! The best thing was that I did get through the mail. We had many charity requests and a few cards and letters. We scored big on catalogs and magazines. After the game we just worked on the house. I did discover that the outlets in the bathroom don’t work. We have no nightlights. We had planned to finish the spaghetti we had for lunch but ended up just snacking instead. I had a glass of wine and Evelyn a Pepsi. I had learned that the people who built our pergola had bought a unit and moved hear from Peru, IN. We went out to see if we could find them but couldn’t. We learned later that they hadn’t moved in yet. We went to bed to be rested for worship tomorrow. The days are hot but the nights are extremely pleasant. We are blessed to be here.
