Another bike ride
Tuesday began with exercise and elevated to a bike ride around a local “resort” area. It is called Progreso Lakes and is on a body of water that was once the bed of the Rio Grande River. The waters was retained when the river changed beds and people saw the potential for a resort. We have friends who live there and have boats and jet skis so it is a large body of water. We rode almost 9 miles and then loaded the bikes back onto the trailer. We drove back to a local restaurant called “Fat Daddy’s” and is frequented by people returning from Mexico. One of the owners lives in our park but doesn’t give any discounts. He couldn’t because nearly every resident here would be there at least once a week. We returned home and rested and read. We got some more mail, consisting mostly of charities requesting money. They have to get most of their donations at the end of the year, reminding me of retailers. Some of them get crazy in their mailings. We went to the Dairy Queen at 6 to play BINGO and have something to eat. The DQ holds bingo games each Tuesday and gives coupons for product as prizes for the winners. We didn’t win anything so we had to buy a pecan mudslide for our dinner. We came home and took a walk around the park. It was a pleasant evening, and we thank God that we don’t have to be in the cold and snow that is punishing the Midwest.
