Second golf outing of the year

Loading my golf clubs for the trip to the golf club scramble.


Monday I was prepared to drive to the golf course for the scramble but another golfer offered to take 4 of us so I rode. Before I left, my golf cart was returned. The noise we heard was the brake shoes breaking apart. We now have new brakes.
The game was a scramble in which each of the 4 players hits from the best lie. I was in a group that walked instead of riding in a cart. My drive on the first hole was the best so everyone played from there. We could not use my ball for the next shot no matter how good it may have been. Each player’s drive must be used at least 2 times during the round. Our team finished one under par. We were not finished until after 1. I had neglected to leave a note telling Evelyn I was not driving, but she figured it out. She was ironing when I arrived, partly to help her be warmer. We had lunch and then took a nap. I have been very tired during the days and needed some sleep. We got up and spent the evening watching some football and writing Christmas cards.
