No Christian Christmas
Monday is park meeting. I walked around the park before showering. I need to develop a habit of walking. I sit too much. The meeting was ordinary except that we learned of a family in our park that is in trouble. She has had a mastectomy and some other surgery, is facing chemotherapy, and the husband has been laid off. We started a fund for them. We took supper to them and then learned that he should be on workman’s comp within the week. We will check back at mid week to see how their finances are and offer to help if needed. Evelyn had done the regular exercise and then gone to water aerobics. She was pooped and went to bed for a nap after showering. We had lunch and then I went to the hall to call the stock show office to say we would volunteer again this year. I took Evelyn to the nail parlor to have her nails refilled while I went to shop for some things. I am normally amazed at the lower prices at the Dollar General store and Big Lots. I can hardly go into those places without buying many things I don’t need. The reason I went was to see if they had any Christian Christmas things I could use to decorate our golf cart for the parade. One of out friends wants us to decorate. She has every imaginable secular Christmas item available on her house and cart. I refuse to do that. She is a devout Catholic too. I guess she wants to stay away from our Lord. As we learned later, we can’t be in the parade because we will be volunteering at the hospital. We came home and made more preparations for tomorrow’s pad party. I worked on the sermon and made some donations to charities.
