volunteering

Friday was hot. The temperature was in the 90s and will be for the next few days. The company that installed our new heating system came to our house, reviewed our floor, and left a check for the work to replace the damaged laminated strips. We were, of course, delighted. I went to the hall and called a couple that worships with us and asked them to read some Scripture Sunday. They agreed. We had to get dressed for our serving at the hospital and decided to have lunch at the hospital since we are always given a free lunch coupon for our birthdays. We are permitted just about as much as we want so we used one and shared it. I worked at the information desk as usual, and Evelyn did some filing. We learned that she might go back to checking in the patients in the outpatient area. We had only popcorn for supper and just stayed in. I watched the Brad Pitt movie, “Troy”. It was OK but didn’t follow the actual Illiad accurately but as close as Hollywood can do. Evelyn dipped her peanut butter bon bons in chocolate. She also began writing Christmas Cards. We will continue tomorrow.
