Off to the Island

Phil and Evelyn at South Padre Island after our lunch. It was cold out of the sun.
Sunday was a marvelous day. We had 74 people in attendance. The men’s singing group, the Trailblazers, sang but only 4 of them left after they had finished. This was the largest crowd we have ever had for worship. We thank God for His faithfulness. We came home after Bible study, changed clothes, and headed for South Padre Island. We bought a small bucket of KFC and took it to a pavilion at the beach. It was somewhat in the shade and Phil and Evelyn were cold. We finished lunch and then walked on the beach. The sole of my sandal came off. I thought I had it fixed using Gorilla glue. I guess I have to try again. We walked across the street to see what was happening in the convention center. We weren’t interested in that but did see some people flying colorful kites. That was exciting. We drove to the north end of the island and back, and then drove to the south end of the island. We walked through the UTPA oceanic research center. It was too early to eat shrimp on the island so we just drove back to Weslaco and went to El Pato for tacos. We came home and I made popcorn to eat while we watched a movie. We went to bed to prepare for another day of touring tomorrow.
