Band concert

We were blessed with Holy Communion again. We also sang but did only a fair job. We expected that because we had not rehearsed the piece enough. It was simple but had two notes to begin phrases that had no pitch reference. We came home and enjoyed the steak from Friday night. It was still delicious. We watched the Cubs game and I marked some golf balls that Billy Riggs had given me. I play golf with him tomorrow morning. The Cubs are hot and will hopefully stay that way. I popped some popcorn to take to the band concert, and we left to walk the lake. We were near the Terrace Hotel when it began to rain, not very hard and not too long. We sat on a porch in rocking chairs until it stopped. We saw lightning and heard thunder but it was in the distance. We did complete our walk but were suspicious we would get rained on in the process. We didn’t, however. We went to Taco Bell and got some change and 2 cups of ice and drove to the Maggie Valley pavilion. We took lawn chairs and sat outside to listen to the concert. We could not hear as well as when inside but enjoyed it anyway. I ate most of the popcorn and we shared a Pepsi. We drove home and Evelyn made arrangements to have some Mary Kay product delivered. She also talked with Emily a short while after talking with Noah. We finished the evening by watching some of the Olympics.
