much need rain
We slept a bit later today but were off for our walk by 9. I returned a jumbo space bag to Wal-Mart because it lost air. They exchanged it and we were off to the lake. When we got to Stuart Auditorium, we went in to hear a black choir from a Methodist Church in Winston-Salem, NC. It was an inspiring spiritual time. We finished our walk and were home by 11:30. I borrowed a neighbor’s ladder and bent the corners of the gutter were the flag gets caught when the wind blows. I think that will correct the problem. We had a lunch of leftovers from Evelyn’s luncheon Thursday and watched the USA basketball team play. We have tried to get someone to go with us to the Shindig tonight. We received a call from Stan and Linda inquiring about Evelyn’s gall bladder. We talked a while and wished him happy birthday. I think we had their anniversary (today) on our calendar but forgot it. They will go to Tuscany sometime this month. They had a visit from Jamie, our niece from New Bedford. We have not heard from them since we visited several years ago and sent them some money. They are doing well. For some reason, I was very tired and went to bed for a nap while I watched the Olympics. While I was sleeping, a rain storm came up accompanied by thunder. We decided to stay home instead of taking a chance on driving to Asheville. We have had 2 nice rains in the past 2 days. We need more but praise God for what He has blessed us with. I didn’t know it but the Cubs were scheduled to be televised tonight; therefore we watched it. They lost a close one but had won 9 road games in a row. An old saying from baseball: you can’t win ‘em all.
