A cold Sunday

Sunday was worship day. We dressed in warm, more formal clothes and went to the service here in the park. It was OK and was communion Sunday. We didn’t partake because the elements weren’t consecrated. We believe in the real presence of our Lord’s Body and Blood in, with and under the bread and wine. They don’t. We went from there to our local Lutheran church where we worshiped and did take Holy Communion. It was, as always, a very uplifting experience. It is an amazing puzzle that our Lord would die for the expiation of our sin. He reminds us of that each time we commune. We went to Chili’s for lunch. We had received a gift card from my fraternity brother/high school classmate/travel agent and wanted to see how much it was worth. We shared a very good meal and had a small bit left over. We came home around 2 and went outside to trim the Sega palms and cut down the huge cactus in the back yard. I also spaded the manure into the small garden we have, and Evelyn planted Swiss Chard, onions, spinach, zucchini, and lettuce. She also planted some zinnia flowers. I had to go serve ice cream at 6. There are fewer people coming this year. Perhaps there are just not enough people here yet. I came home and made our Sunday favorite supper: popcorn. Evelyn made several telephone calls to Stacy, her brother, John, and Pauline Flynn. We dressed in warm clothes around 9:45 and took our walk around the park. The low predicted tonight is 42.
