February1--cruise day 1

We were up mostly packed, showered and eating breakfast by 7:45. We went back and borrowed the maid’s vacuum to suck air from our hanging space bag. We took it and our other 5 bags to the hotel storage and called a cab to take us to Dorrego Plaza to buy a sign for our porch. We found a small one and some earrings. We had walked looking for a Methodist church we had seen yesterday but couldn’t find it. We took a taxi back to the hotel where we were picked up by our transport and taken to the dock. We stood in line for at least an hour to check in. We were blessed in that it was very temperate. We were concerned that our smuggled wine would be detected by the X-ray but it arrived unchallenged. We discovered that Luann’s brother had the same cabin number we had. We learned we had been upgraded to an outside cabin, giving us a window to the ocean. I didn’t get any thrill from that, but Evelyn was delighted. We met in Jones’ balcony suite for some champagne. We met in the 4 Seasons for dinner at 8:30. The Super Bowl was being played but not telecast to the rooms so I didn’t watch much since I didn’t want to go to the disco lounge.
