Saving the last dance
I was up and spread the mulch in front of the house while Evelyn exercised. When she came home, she finished while I talked with a man who had expressed interest in our extra golf cart. He was afraid he would have to do something to it but was “no mechanic”. I am not either but have enough sense to find someone who could do repairs. He didn’t buy it. I showered and dressed for our hospital shift. Evelyn finished her work, showered and dressed too. She prepared a shrimp stir fry for lunch, and then we left for the hospital. We had a busy day where I work but Evelyn left early and went to Big Lots to get some marked down St. Patrick’s Day decorations for tonight’s dance. We set up some green decorations as did the band. We had asked some friends to help us and worked with them to get ready. The people who normally sell tickets were not able to work so I sold tickets. We had only 77 paid admissions so we lost a bit of money on the dance but made some on the 50/50 drawing and soda sales. We had another couple who stayed to help us clean up the hall before we went home. Evelyn had been up since 4 this morning and went to bed. We have pretty well decided it would be too expensive to take the granddaughters to a dude ranch as planned and Stacy would rather come to NC as would we. There are places to ride horses in that area and are probably prettier trails. We could stay at our house, saving boocoo bucks on lodging.
