End of the holiday

We didn’t have much breakfast and dressed for church. We went to Long’s
Chapel United Methodist church. The young assistant pastor delivered a good Independence Day message. He emphasized that we are dependent on God for everything. We went to Burger King because we had bogof coupons for double cheeseburgers. We were home by 1 and the Georges worked in a flurry to get ready for their trip home. I did talk some of them into eating some ice cream before they left. I made a couple of phone calls after they left. I called cousin Don to see if his sister had left any records of her genealogy study. He said no. I also asked him to visit us in August or September. He will ask Deana. I also talked with Grotrians and asked them to bring beer and rhubarb when they come in a week or two. I watched some of the Cubs game while Evelyn napped. She had slept well last night but was still tired. Emily called and Evelyn talked with her at length about things we want to do while they are here. They really want to do many things with us. I also watched a Purdue football game from 1997 when they staged the greatest comeback I have ever seen. Evelyn wanted to walk so we left for the lake around 5. While walking we heard from Tom that they were home safely. Barry Conover also called and we planned to meet sometime in August. We came home and called the Helbslings to ask if they would meet us for dinner at J. Arthur’s tomorrow evening instead of coming here. They agreed. We relaxed and watched TV for the evening with our usual popcorn.
