water service blues

We were up early to walk because Evelyn had to get back, finish her lunch prep, and dress. I helped by making my own breakfast and ate late because I thought it would clear off (it had rained much of the night). I took her to meet her ride at the church and went to the hospital to see if I could upload some pictures to the blog. I couldn’t get it to work so I went to Lambuth hall at the lake and was surprised that I could do it. It took quite long, but I was successful. When I finished around 2, the rain had stopped and it was a beautiful day. I came home, got my golf clubs, and went to the lake golf course. I played 18 holes under cloudy skies. I heard thunder often but never saw any lightning or I would have been gone. The rain held off until hole 16, but, when it did come, it was a warm gentle rain like the one I played in earlier in the summer. I finished around 5:30 and came home looking forward to a shower. Unfortunately our water had been turned off. We got some water from a neighbor to flush the stool and wash our hands. We just ate the lasagna from Monday and watched TV. I remembered we had not sent Noah his birthday card and we went to town to get one. We took it to the post office, hoping it would go out early in the morning. We came home and called another woman from church and invited her to dinner with us and Eva on Friday night. I then called the sanitation district and asked them to come early in the morning to turn the water on. I asked them to bring a bill so I could pay them on the spot. We pray that they come. If they don’t, we will have to drive over there and confront them. I have been expecting a bill. Instead we received none, no advance warning of termination of service, nor even the courtesy of coming to the door to tell Evelyn what then were going to do.
