Back to our event empty lives
Evelyn didn’t sleep well last night and was awake until after 4. I let her sleep until 10. In the meantime I watered the plants and began cleaning up from the weekend. The grill needed attention too. I also reassembled the golf bags and loaded the trash into the back of the car. I emptied the trash cans in the house. I brought the vacuum cleaner out but didn’t want to sweep until Evelyn wakened. She then showered before I did and joined me in cleaning. I was pleasantly surprised about how clean the floors were. It was because the kids were not allowed to eat in the living area. Evelyn had unloaded the dishwasher during the middle of the night so she just mopped the floors after I swept them. We baked the one left over pizza for lunch and invited Doris to eat with us. She did and we had a good time again. Evelyn started a pot of no nothin’ soup and stored the Independence Day decoration in the attic. We relaxed a bit before leaving for the dump site. From there we went to cash a small check at the bank, returned a book to the library, and loaded a garbage can full of mulch into the car. We drove to Maggie Valley and I left a message at the golf course, asking the pro for tickets allowing me some more rounds of golf. We went on to the restaurant to meet our guests. On the way they called and said they were not well so we went alone. We got 2 lasagna dinners (BOGOF day), shared 1 and brought 1 home. It has looked like it would storm all day but hasn’t. I returned a container of slaw to Frieda and came home to make some telephone calls before retiring. Oh, yes: the Cubs won their game.
