First bike ride of the season
Despite the rain all the way to McAllen,we decided to ride with the bike club along the street in McAllen. It was cold (upper 40s) so I wore a long sleeve shirt. Not enough. I was uncomfortable throughout. So was everyone else so we didn’t ride as far as usual and were at the door of Mr. Ghattis when it opened. It offers a pizza buffet, salad bar pasta bar and baked potato. Evelyn ate just a salad from the extensive bar. We put our bikes onto a long trailer to travel the 20 miles to the bike path and back. We transported 3 ladies in our car. We were home by 1:30 and Evelyn rested. Lloyd Froment came over to examine the ice maker in the refrigerator. He thinks the solenoid is stuck, preventing water from reaching the ice maker. Bob Schwinghammer came to see the damage to our shed and suggested we see if we can file a claim with our insurance company. I will do that tomorrow. I will also call the plumbers Joe Winston had recommended to see if we can move the water pipe instead of the shed. I worked on the sermon for the first Advent season as well as the order of service--the hymns, scriptures, etc. We went our to look for some groceries and ideas for new curtains that Evelyn wants to make. No success. We watched some prerecorded TV shows before going to bed.
