Continuing heavy rain
We wakened to a continuation of the rain that began yesterday. It rained virtually all day until after dark. We wouldn’t have left the house by choice but had none. Evelyn led exercise even though no one showed up. She returned home and went with me back to the building where we had our Bible study. Only 5 other people showed up but we had a good study using the Men’s Network study comparing the Bible to the Qur’an. The attendance may have been down due to the weather. Even we had to drive due to the rain. We returned home for lunch of leftovers. Evelyn laid down while I worked on making some invitations to a Bible study for men that I plan to host beginning Thursday. I thought Evelyn had a meeting at church to select carpeting for the altar area at 2. As it turned out it was at 3 instead. I was somewhat miffed and took the recyclable material to the site and continued to Big Lots to get mustard and other things. I went from there across the parking lot to check on Verizon’s deals that would provide me with a Myfi unit. The cost will remain around $100 per month for the phone and Myfi. I returned home for supper of delicious tortilla soup. Through the grace of God I happened on to the Purdue/Wake Forest basketball game. We watched as we ate and were delighted that Purdue won. We watched some reruns of “Monk” and went to bed after the news that told us the rain had stopped--for 2 days. Despite having virtually no rain from January to September this area is right at the annual average for rainfall.
