An afternoon of lounging

Monday always brings the park meeting. We didn't learn much this time but had many things to do afterward. I talked with Thorpes about organizing a happy hour with Baumans and Okells. They all pitch horeshoes together and Okells will leave for Canada near the end of the month. I then went to Marge Butchers to talk with her sister about details on some vacations we may bid on Thursday at the breakfast for Mable's Free Clinic. They support a free dental clinic for the poor children in this area of northern Mexico. The trips are to several locations on the western Mexican coast where a donor owns some time share condominiums. The minimum bid is $500--a steal--but our problem is whether we can use it during the winter months since I preach every Sunday. I think I can work that out but need to win the silent auction first. I returned home and called to reschedule the Gideon visit to our worship service. I also mailed the materials related to Saturday's AARP class. Of course, it would out because today is President's Day. We had chili for lunch because it was cold. We don't have many days to just lie around but this was one of them and we did. We didn't even go outside in the afternoon until about 4. We then took a bike ride around the park. We also covered our tomatoes in the garden before coming in for the evening. The temperature prediction was for freezing tonight.
