golf with Shirley
We walked quite early and then went home for an hour. I took Evelyn to the church at 9:30 and then went to Domestic Auto to have the front brake pads replaced. It took nearly 2 hours, so I walked to a local restaurant for coffee and a bout with the “tome”. I made some headway and walked back to get the car. The cost was $160 including tax. That surprised me because I thought the tax would be added to the estimate. I returned to get Evelyn and had the church secretary punch holes in the pages of the “tome”. I was frustrated because they fell out often. We went home for lunch, and then Evelyn took me to meet Shirley at the golf course. We rented a cart and played 9 holes. We were finished early so I went on playing the back 9. She was content to ride along. I played much better then, except for hole 11 where I lost 6 balls in the water. She took me to the church around 6:30 where I found supper and the VBS. We left and went from there to Paul and Shirley’s cabin for some peach cobbler. She threw in a piece of Texas sheet cake and we ate it just like thin people. We returned home and went to bed without blogging. We were asleep before 11.
