Welcome rain
We were up walking but later this morning. We didn’t get home until after 9. I watered the plants and found the hose connection was not connected correctly, so I tried to reconnect it properly. I hope I did it. We skipped breakfast and dressed to come to the hospital for the afternoon. We had little to do once again, allowing us to go home early. We took a nap and then dressed to go to the VBS. I wanted to be more involved with the crafts because Evelyn was bothered by a couple of the boys who were uncooperative. Tonight, however, they were very involved with the projects. We were glad to see the VBS end. We went home and redressed—this time for the dance. We arrived late but found only 5 couples, including us, and one single widowed woman who always comes. The dance teacher dances with her often. While dancing, there was a violent rainstorm. We have had some good rains in the past couple of days and are thankful to God for sending them. There seems to be a waning interest in the ballroom dances. This is the third at which there were few couples in attendance. We met our friends, Dallas and Karen Norris, and enjoyed their company. We plan to go to Greenville for a baseball game in August. The stadium there is a small model of Fenway Park in Boston, and I would like to see it. We helped clean the dance hall (putting away chairs and tables, folding table cloths, etc.) and came home around 11. We had to prepare our offering for the Marriage Encounter spiral tomorrow afternoon and worked on making cornbread salad. I did the chopping. We finally got to bed around midnight.
