disenfranchised in Texas
We slept a bit late and went to see if we could vote. I was told that we could vote for the state offices at any post office in Texas. After being run around, we learned that we couldn’t. We had applied for absentee ballots but never got them. After discussion with friends, we thought it was because we were registered Republicans causing our applications to be misplaced. It is amazing how much misinformation is distributed by government workers. What is more amazing is that people are fool enough to be willing to let these same people control their lives. We met Tom and Luann for lunch and they had BOGO coupons for the Smokehouse restaurant. We enjoyed the lunch and then returned to our room to rest. They had to feed their dogs. Around 4, they and Schwinghammers came to our room for some beer, snacks and conversation. From there we went to the Wurstfest again. We heard Alex Meixner again and then went to the big hall to dance. We didn’t eat much but did have a lot of beer. We were home by 10 (the place closes down at 9:30) and learned about the predictions on the elections. Things were looking good.
