First worship of the year.

We were up and off to worship at the usual time. We had only 36 in attendance but were blessed by Holy Communion. One of the dear men who is on our church board wanted to speak. He pleaded with the congregation to reach out to the people in the park and ask them to church. I was moved by his concern. It is, however, God’s business to draw people to His house. It is our job to invite them. We came home and planned to go to Church’s Chicken for lunch and stop at an older gentlemen’s house to ask about his making a carved angel for us to give to the girl’s for their houses. As it turned out, the man also attends worship at Immanuel. Evelyn went to see him while I stayed home to watch the Saints play Tampa Bay. They eventually lost. Evelyn had forgotten to take money, so she decided to just fix lunch for us here. I worked on printing scriptures for the people who are kind enough to read during our services. I got all of them done until the middle of April. We had some pecans bought from a friend this morning, so we cracked and picked them after I went to the hall to serve ice cream as we watched some programs I had recorded in the past week. We have had several talks with both the girls today. Evelyn enjoys talking with the grandkids.
