eating football tickets
We got up and showered by 7:30, but Bob and Carrie had already been to the top of our mountain. We made a light breakfast of toast and made plans to go to the lake to walk. Carrie went off to shower and decided they wanted to leave rather than walk so they did. We had a great time with them and were truly glad they had come to visit. We did go to the lake to walk and do the computer stuff. We didn’t get home until after noon and had some left over tortilla soup. I then began to watch some football. I learned that the Purdue game was not the selected game in this region but it turned out that it was just another way the Lord spared me the pain of witnessing another slaughter. We will definitely not return for the final two games. It would cost us more to drive to Purdue than we will lose on “eating” the tickets. We will just go to Roswell and leave from there. I have had no response from the synod web site I have contacted to see where we could go to volunteer in the Gulf area. I guess I will have to contact a pastor in the area directly. Evelyn did some reading and writing of letters during the afternoon. Neither of us did any real work although I did load the trash/recyclables and took them to the drop off site. I thought we would go to downtown Waynesville for music this evening, but Evelyn did not really want to go. We stayed home and relaxed.
