Traveling the Blue Ridge
We arose and everyone but me had breakfast. I had to have a fasting blood draw at 10. Evelyn had an appointment too. Mine went smoothly as did hers. The doctor was pleased with her progress on her new medical doses. He gave her an script for a higher dosage of Benicar and a higher dosage of potassium. We left the doctor’s office in their rental car for the Blue Ridge Parkway. We drove to the Pisgah Inn for lunch. We had to wait half an hour but were very satisfied. We split a rainbow trout dinner. We left there and went to the Folk Art Museum on the Parkway. After musing for a long time, the girls decided to go to the civic center in Asheville to go to the fall juried craft exhibit. We went there and looked at everything. I thought of looking for a holder for stir spoons that rests on the counter. There were many ceramic crafts there, and I thought we might find one there. We didn’t but did talk to one of the artisans who said she might make one for us. We left there and drove to The Lodge, a restaurant we had visited before with Paul and Shirley. It is atop a mountain where there is a ski lodge and some homes for sale. The setting is beautiful, and we all had a great meal in this beautiful setting. Unfortunately for us beer drinkers, the restaurant is located in a dry county. Fortunately, the Pisgah Inn was not in a dry county. We drove home and I returned a call from Jonathon Creek Hideaway. They said they had a renter for the motor home. It will be rented for 5 day. I will take it there tomorrow. Carrie bought us a rooster magnet at one of the craft booths. We will use it on the refrigerator.
