Sunday
We went to church to meet the young family but were disappointed when they never came. The service was led by two of the laity in the church since the new pastor begins next week. I know I would have done a better job of leading worship, but am confident the Lord had a better plan. We went to the Haywood Cafe at one of the local truck stops for lunch. It was very crowded but don't know why. Our meals were mediocre albeit plentiful. We came home for the afternoon and went to Maggie Valley for the band concert during the evening. It was good as usual and afterward went to Paul and Shirley's for peach cobbler. Paul is miserable with his gout. He said every joint in his body ached. No wonder he is such a curmudjon, bitter and nasty most of the time. I would be also if I felt as bad as he must. We came home around 10 and retired.
