Thanking God for blessings
We didn’t sleep as late as I thought we would. We were up at 7:30 and off for a walk. Evelyn walked around the park with me today and we ended up at the hall where I had coffee and helped set the tables up for the banquet later. Evelyn went home and worked on getting our table service together. I came home and put some more things away before taking a shower and dressing for dinner. We went to the hall and I took three bottles of wine to share. I was able to share only two of them. We had a delicious dinner of turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, green bean casseroles (2), squash, cranberry salad, pecan, chocolate pecan, and pumpkin pie. We were able to take home some leftovers for tomorrow. We rested in the afternoon and then rode our bicycles to Ranchero Village looking for the man in charge of scheduling volunteers for the Feast of Sharing on December 15. We learned that he doesn’t live in Ranchero so we called from the Hamel’s who want to volunteer also. We will work from 12:30-2:30 greeting people. We then went to say hello to the Bauknechts, friends from Winnipeg. We rode back home (2 miles), this time with the wind. We got home in time for the bike ride in the park. Evelyn walked with Sharon while I rode. There were only 5 of us riding. I had given Tom 12 golf balls and asked him to lay off the Pastor jokes and sacrilegious comments he makes. He didn’t respond in any way. We will see how he behaves the next time we are together. After the ride we came home and watched a Barbara Mandrel special and the Country Music Awards.
