dessert day

Sunday was a busy day. We were blessed with 44 attending the Holy Communion service at Trail’s End. I then hurried off to Llano Grande where I preached to 365 there. I used the sermon from two weeks ago. We talked with some friends afterward and then went to Tom and LuAnn’s for wine and home made gumbo. Everything was delicious, especially the pecan tarts Evelyn brought to the meal. We left around two and went to another 90th birthday party at Trail’s End. The lady attends our worship but doesn’t commune. She is a dedicated Christian though. We returned home once again and took a nap. I thought Pieder might call but he didn’t. He answered the questions via e-mail. I still want to discuss his treatment of Noah with him before Alabama. We watched TV in the evening. “Cabaret” was the film of the evening. I also spent some time mopping up the Pepsi that came from the can I had dropped onto the kitchen floor. We also had a bowl of ice cream. Sunday is the only day we can eat dessert since we gave it up for Lent. I also forgot to record that my fellow lay minister called from NC to say, among other things, that he might lose his preaching assignment in Franklin. The district might consolidate the churches there, replacing him with an ordained preacher. Of course, it doesn’t matter that our Synod is desperately in need of pastors to fill pulpits. Cest le gere!
